06.02.2018 - Switzerland stopped carrying out systematic identity checks at the national borders in 2008. Only non-Schengen flights are an exception. Customs and goods controls are still carried out, however, and the Federal Customs Administration FCA has stepped up cooperation with international partner organisations. Employees of Swiss Customs have been increasingly assigned to international missions since 2010.
