International Holocaust Remembrance Day
On the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, President Karin Keller-Sutter took part in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp. She welcomed around 60 Swiss survivors of the Holocaust and Nazi oppression for lunch in Bern.

On 10 February 2025, some 80 years after the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp, President Karin Keller-Sutter welcomed around 60 survivors of the Holocaust and Nazi oppression who made Switzerland their new home to a lunch at the Bernerhof in Bern. The liberation of Auschwitz symbolises the liberation of all the other concentration camps.

President Keller-Sutter to attend ceremony marking 80th anniversary of Auschwitz liberation
On 27 January, around 40 heads of state and government and heads of international organisations will join Holocaust survivors at a ceremony to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp. The President of the Swiss Confederation, Karin Keller-Sutter, will represent Switzerland at the event. She will be accompanied by two Swiss survivors.
