Swiss Defence Industry Day in Brussels: Strengthening domestic industry, deepening cooperation with Europe
Bern, 01.12.2025 — The Federal Office for Defence Procurement armasuisse is working together with the SWISS ASD (Aeronautics, Security and Defence) industry association, the Swiss Missions to NATO and the EU as well as the bilateral embassy in Brussels to organise the second “Swiss Defence Industry Day” on 1 December 2025. The event will be held at EFTA House in Brussels. The aim of the event is to establish and maintain international contacts and to promote Switzerland as an attractive location for the armament industry. National Armaments Director will make the trip to Belgium to attend the event.
The event will demonstrate the capabilities of the Swiss security and defence industry and consolidate its network of international partners. Swiss companies aim to expand their collaboration with European partners and consolidate their technological position within the European defence market. With this in mind, armasuisse is implementing the Federal Council’s armament policy strategy in a practical sense – by expanding international cooperations, ensuring competitiveness and improving the framework conditions. Urs Loher will meet with the Belgian National Armaments Director, Major General Filip Borremans, at the Swiss Defence Industry Day to hold bilateral talks. The topics of discussion will be the current armaments projects and the collaboration between Switzerland and Belgium. The aim of the talks is to compare experiences, identify common interests and further develop the cooperation.
Federal Councillor Martin Pfister and the Chief Executive of the European Defence Agency (EDA) André Denk will also be in attendance at the Swiss Defence Industry Day, underscoring the collaboration between Switzerland and the EDA.
The Swiss Defence Industry Day is a great opportunity for Switzerland to showcase its technological expertise, maintain its network of international partners and demonstrate how it contributes to European security.
