Producer and Import Price Index fell in October by 0.3%

Neuchâtel, 10.11.2025 — The Producer and Import Price Index fell in October 2025 by 0.3% compared with the previous month, reaching 105.0 points (December 2020 = 100). Computer, electronic and optical products in particular saw falling prices. Compared with October 2024, the price level of the whole range of domestic and imported products fell by 1.7%. These are the results of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).

Falling prices were recorded compared with the previous month in the Producer Price Index, particularly for watches, instruments and appliances for measuring and testing, electrical equipment and scrap.

Machinery and petroleum and natural gas in particular were responsible for a fall in the Import Price Index compared with September 2025. Prices also fell for pharmaceutical preparations, computer, electronic and optical products, electrical equipment, gasoline and pome and stone fruits. In contrast, coins and non-ferrous metals and products made therefrom became more expensive.
