President Karin Keller-Sutter to attend meeting of finance ministers of German-speaking countries
Bern, 25.08.2025 — The President of the Swiss Confederation, Karin Keller-Sutter, will attend this year's meeting of the finance ministers of German-speaking countries in Luxembourg on 25 and 26 August 2025. The discussions will focus on current geopolitical developments and strengthening competitiveness.
In addition to President Karin Keller-Sutter, Prime Minister Brigitte Haas (Liechtenstein), Minister of Finance Gilles Roth (Luxembourg), Federal Minister of Finance Markus Marterbauer (Austria) and State Secretary Rolf Bösinger (Germany) will also attend the meeting in Luxembourg.
The ministers will explore ways of strengthening competitiveness and, against this backdrop, exchange views on geopolitical developments, market access, government debt and international tax policy.
Karin Keller-Sutter will also take the opportunity to hold bilateral talks on the fringes of the meeting. On 26 August, the President of the Swiss Confederation will meet Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Luc Frieden, to discuss bilateral issues and the geopolitical situation.
