In the current legislative period, the Federal Council has thus set the following objectives in the area of economic, monetary and financial affairs: guarantee of the financial centre's stability and attractiveness as a location; optimisation of Swiss institutions' ability to act and perform; enhancement of the attractiveness and credibility of the Swiss tax system. With its financial centre strategy, the Federal Council's aim is to continue to create favourable framework conditions for Switzerland's financial centre while at the same time ensuring its worldwide acceptance.
