Double taxation agreement with Turkey has entered into force

Bern, 08.05.2012 - The double taxation agreement (DTA) between Switzerland and Turkey has entered into force with the recent diplomatic exchange of notes. It contains provisions on the exchange of information in accordance with the international standard applicable at present. The DTA will contribute to the further positive development of bilateral economic relations.

Originally, Switzerland and Turkey had signed a DTA on 22 May 2008. However, this did not enter into force, as the Federal Council had in the meantime decided on the new administrative assistance policy in accordance with the internationally applicable standard. This amendment has since been introduced in the agreement and been approved by parliament in both countries.

The provisions of the agreement will apply from 1 January 2013.
